About Josh Weiss
Faith. Family. Wonder.
The camera is how I chase all three. I create large-scale fine art landscape photography for collectors who want more than decoration. My work is about presence — the feeling of standing in a place long enough for it to speak.
The heart behind the work
Rooted before I ever pick up the camera.
My family is the center of my life. Long before I think about collections, shows, prints, or sales, I think about the people God has entrusted to me.
That grounding matters. It affects how I see the world, how I treat people, and how I approach the work.
I want my photography to carry that same sense of rootedness — not rushed, not disposable, not made to chase trends, but created with patience, care, and purpose.
Faith and wonder
Creation has always pulled me in.
My faith shapes the way I see the world. Photography is one of the clearest ways I experience wonder — a way of slowing down long enough to notice the beauty, order, and atmosphere woven into creation.
Whether I am standing beneath redwoods, watching light break across a canyon, or waiting for the right movement in the clouds, I am usually chasing the same thing: a moment that feels bigger than me.
My goal is to create work that carries some of that presence into the spaces where people live.
Artist statement
I want the finished piece to feel closer to standing there.
Not just looking at where a camera was pointed — but experiencing the atmosphere, depth, and presence that made the place unforgettable.
Passion and craft
Photography became the place where beauty, craft, and patience meet.
Photography is not a casual side interest for me. It is an absolute passion.
I love the entire process — the travel, the scouting, the waiting, the technical decisions in the field, and the long hours afterward shaping the final piece.
Some artworks take hours to capture and many more to finish. I may stitch multiple frames together, blend exposures, stack focus points, or use long exposure techniques to create an image that holds detail and atmosphere at large scale.
The goal is not to make a photograph feel artificial. The goal is to make the finished artwork feel closer to what it was like to actually stand there.
One consistent thread
More than one title. One direction.
If you search my name, you may find more than photography. That is not something I try to hide.
Over the years, I have worked in ministry, worship, media, leadership, business, and other creative and professional roles. Those different spaces may seem varied on the surface, but they have shaped the same instincts: care for people, attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and a desire to create something meaningful.
Those same instincts now show up in my artwork — from the way I capture a scene, to the way I finish a print, to the way I help a collector choose the right piece for their home.
Finished artwork
Made to live with, not just look at once.
I choose finishes that give the work physical presence.
Signature Metal gives the image clarity, depth, and a clean glass-free presentation. Textured Fine Art takes certain pieces further, adding dimensional surface detail so light interacts with the artwork as the viewer moves through the room.
I want the final piece to feel alive in a space — not flat, temporary, or forgettable.
Accessible by design
You can actually talk to the artist.
One thing collectors often tell me is that they appreciate being able to talk directly with the person who created the work. I value that too.
If you are considering a piece, you do not have to guess alone. Send me a wall photo. Ask about size. Ask about finish. Tell me where you are thinking of placing it.
I would rather help you choose the right artwork than push you toward the wrong one. My goal is not simply to sell a print. My goal is to help you find a piece that belongs in your home and continues to mean something after the show is over.
What guides the work
The values behind every finished piece.
Presence
The work should hold attention in a room and continue to reward people who live with it.
Patience
The best images are not rushed. They are waited for, built carefully, and finished with intention.
Craft
Capture technique, post-production, scale, and finish all matter in the final artwork.
Connection
The relationship with the collector matters. I want the right piece to end up in the right home.
Let’s find the right piece.
